After successful trade missions to the east coast of America, TAEF will be organizing its first trade mission to the west coast in April 2018.

The latest apprenticeship trade mission will focus on boosting apprenticeships in non-traditional sectors of the U.S. economy: including healthcare; EdTech; cyber security; digital IT; business services, public sector, advanced manufacturing, retail and transport logistics.

If you are a U.K. apprenticeship service provider and you are interested in expanding your service offer to California, then this trade mission is for you! Register your interest for further details.

EVENT: City Corporation of London and Atlantic Apprenticeships hosts roundtable with Square Mile employers

On 27th February, City Corporation of London will host a roundtable of Square Mile employers with TAEF and its strategic partner, the Open University (OU).

The roundtable will discuss the prospect of launching the first Transatlantic Apprenticeship Exchange Program later in 2018. The scheme will enable multinational firms in the U.K., with operations in the U.S., to take advantage of the ability to offer their UK employees up to one year on a supported degree apprenticeship program in the United States. This event is invite only.

TAEF President meets lawmakers on Capitol Hill to discuss new Apprenticeship Bill

As part of the (February) 2018 Skills Summit in Washington D.C., TAEF founder and President, Tom Bewick, led a U.K. delegation to Capitol Hill to meet with policymakers interested in expanding apprenticeships.

Meeting with the office of House Representative Susan Davis (D) from California, a discussion took place about how to improve bi-partisan efforts that can support the scaling up of more high-quality apprenticeships. A further roundtable is planned in March 2018, with the aim of drafting a new bi-partisan Apprenticeship Bill. Congressional lawmakers are very interested in the U.K. model of expansion and how the role of workforce intermediaries, like Apprenticeship Service Providers, can help in the expansion effort.
